Waterskiing
BY JOHN BRANDSTEIN

The most popular activity at camp is waterskiing. It is enjoyed by approximately 50% of the camp.

Beginners are first shown all the rules of the area, and then taken skiing with our 115 horsepower boat. Attached to the side of the boat is a 10 foot steel pole called the boom. This is an extremely helpful teaching aid that allows for close contact between student and instructor. After the student has done this well enough, he is then taken up on two skis behind the boat. Following that is the lifting of one ski, then dropping it slalom, and finally barefoot for those good enough to master it.

The activity is headed up by Josh Taxman, and taught by Bob Heilbronner, Ed Fried, Keith Benzuly, Brian Lifsec, Bill Fried, Tom Callahan, Shoppe, and finally Brian Doner.
