Get Hooked
by Andy Levin

Looking for a thrilling experience at Camp Timberlane? Fishing in Lake Towanda is the activity you’re searching for! This statement can be easily verified by such Timber-experts as Jim Hiken, Eric Kulakow, and Billy Lipman.
One of the best fishing experts in Timberlane history is Mike Perlson. Last year his record included 16 small mouth bass, 9 walleye, and 4 northern. These were appropriately called ‘Pearl’s Lunkers’.

Lipman's catch consisted of 2 bass, along with a string bluegill. Kulakow caught 3 bass, 1 northern pike, and some bluegill. “If you know your fish and lures, you have it all,” Billy said.

As Eric says, “Live bait fishing is a great catcher of most fish in Lake Towanda.”

If looking for bass, northern, and walleye, night fishing is one’s best bet. For Bass, the best lure is a floating repala, or floating huld popper. Also, look for water bugs when night fishing, as this is where the fish can most likely be found.

All in all, Camp Timberlane is located on a great fishing lake, and Lake Towanda is simply an all-around good lake.
