As TIMBERLIFE went to the presses, the
nations baseball strike had just been settled. Fans across the
country argued back and forth over its facts and disadvantages,
but here at camp[ we knew what it truly meant to have no summer
heroes, no crowded rooms as we watch the All-Star game, no box scores
to fight over in the sports section. The loss of baseball at camp is
a loss of one of our most important links with the outside world.
Because of its significance here, our staff took a poll to find
out how the camp as a whole felt about the strike. The results of the
poll are shown below:
As can be seen, baseball is an important part of camp spirit. Incidentally, those with no opinion were omitted from the poll.
