Timberlane to Enact Bicentennial Projects
BY JEFF KLEIN

Camp Timberlane is sure doing it’s part to celebrate the Bicentennial year. This being a very important year will surely turn camp into a special summer.

For many this summer at Timberlane seems the same as last year, but things are soon going to change. Each village (jr., senior, intermediate) is working against each other in a project to improve camp. Some of the suggestions that have been discussed are: (1) taking logs that have been cut in half long-ways and sanded, varnished and set them as benches in the barbecue area. (1) completely rake the waterfront free of leaves, rocks, etc. Other ideas are being worked on.
After much thought a decision has been reached about extending the time of completion of all the projects to four of eight weeks.

Also, a special Bicentennial flag will be raised throughout camp.

As was stated earlier, there will be competition between the villages. Each village will compete against each other to see who can do the best job. There seems to be no disadvantage toward the younger cabins because as a younger nation 200 years ago, America defeated it’s older opponent for freedom.

So let’s all get out and do our part to clean up camp and do get ready to have a great summer.
