KTIM is Camp Timberlanes own radio
station. When no one is there, we broadcast a station from Minocqua
(96 F.M.) so that our campers are not without music or news.
When the first free period bell is rung, KTIM starts its first
broadcast of the day. The broadcasts take place during the following
periods: first free, rest period, second free, and finally after the
evening program.
We are very excited about the station this year because we have a new
turntable and tonearm. Other new equipment includes two cartridge
tape decks which we can use to broadcast with better efficiency.
Disc Jockeys have already given some interesting and innovative
shows. Contests were held were candy bars were rewarded to those who
could identify certain songs and groups. These special broadcasts
took place after the evening programs. During one of the broadcasts
after the evening program, clues were given for a treasure hunt.
Campers using these clues as a guide proceded to search the camp area
for the treasure. Winners were awarded several candy bars for their
efforts. Other contests will be held regularly for the remainder of
the camp season.
Even though we already have the disc jockeys set up, campers can
still come up to Jim Goldstein and ask about special shows.
Remember: THIS IS KTIM--THE VOICE OF CAMP TIMBERLANE AND WE HOPE THAT
YOU ENJOYED THE SHOW!!
