CAMP P.A. GREATLY IMPROVED
BY GREG SCHATTEN

The camp’s public address (P.A.) system has been rectified from last year as we can tell from the announcements.

Last year’s P.A. was very difficult to hear. So this year during the week of pre-camp Joey Shneider and Mark Abrahams started with the amplifier. Later in pre-camp Jim Goldstein helped with the setting up of the speakers.

Joey and Mark also realized the need for more power to effectively operate the P.A. system. Total power was increased from 400 to 600 watts by the first week of camp.

This year’s P.A. has four times the volume of last year’s system. This increase will enable more people in the camp area to hear announcements more clearly.

The expanded system is made up ten speakers situated throughout the entire camp. Before this improved system was completed, the old P.A. was used as a back-up for 3 weeks.

Timberlane’s public address system has always played a major role in letting campers and staff know what is happening. Without such a system the organizing of programs would be hampered. Joey, Mark, and Jim, who all greatly improved the camp P.A., deserve a lot of credits.
