Horsing Around
BY ROBBIE WITT

Horseback Riding is one of the main activities at Timberlane. It is headed by Rick Kagen, Tom Morrison, Steve Silver, and Larry Fuhrer. The horses include Nova, Arnold, Jet, Ashes, Wendy, Cassidy, Smackers, Basooka, and Golden. Only English riding is taught at camp.

Each day when your lesson is over, you take your horses to the stall and tie them up. The horses are kept here until the ride the next day. The method of teaching starts with everyone walking their horses around the ring. The second day you bring your horses down to the trails. They keep alternating, and as you get better, the staff brings you into harder things, such as trotting, cantering, and finally galloping.
