SENIOR & INTERMEDIATE SOFTBALLERS BREEZE

After grabbing an early 4 to 0 lead, the Senior All-Stars held on to beat Algonquin by a final of 11 to 8.

With two men on in the first inning, Junior Counselor John Marks hit a triple which scored both runners. It was one of Marks’ three triples of the day. The next batter, Alan Kline, singled him in with the third run of the inning.

TImberlane built on this and led 11 to 3 going into the bottom of the final inning. Camp Algonquin scored five runs and things were beginning to get a bit sticky. Fortunately, they were able to get out of any further damage, and eventually won by a final of 11-8.

Unfortunately, the basketballers didn’t fare as well as everyone else. Camp Algonquin’s victory in basketball set the final score of the day at three events to one. Timberlane won all three softball games played.

The two camps played a return match the next weekend. Again there were three softball and a single basketball contest.
