Remember Camp?
Here's something we haven't talked about in a
while...Timberlane. I'm just curious as to the game European
Handball, and if anyone ever saw or heard of it outside of
camp. I have a feeling that some counselor (Steve Friedman?)
came to H one year and totally fooled him into thinking it was
a legitimate sport.

There's a sport called Team Handball in the Olympics...not sure
if the rules are similar or not!

identical!

foccer
I remember playing a game on the far athletic field like soccer
but with a Frisbee. Was that Pete Kaufman's
invention?

I'm still around
It's about time Gazzoo got it right and put up a good looking
picture up on the site. Raskin....that Frisbee game was before
Peter--not even sure if Rocky Stone gets credit for bringing it
to Timberlane, but is much more likely to have introduced the
game over Petroff.

I think we might have called the game
"socby."

Ultimate
The game is Ultimate Frisbee, it was not a camp invention (in
fact there are leagues all over the world where it's played),
however, the creation of the nude version of the game may have
had Pete's involvement

Ultimate Pt 2
Ultimate Frisbee was born in New Jersey in the late 60's and
the official rules were written in 1970.
The game didn't reach camp until '73 or '74 but prior to that
there was a soccer/Frisbee game played in the far back field
utilizing the soccer goal posts.
We still need a name for this sport that no one seems to
recall.
Anyone?, anyone?....Beuler?

Soccby ain't Ultimate
Unlike in Ultimate -- the game played all over the world -- in
soccby we at camp threw the disk into the soccer goal to score.
I think we even used goalies, but I'm not sure about
that.

Donna
Drop Trou'
Froccer was a great Timber- past time---when we passed Donna
around the far athletic field. The object was to get her drunk,
race into the woods and then come out smiling while pulling up
your trousers! Go Sacremento!

goofy golf
Goofy golf. You posters are later generation Timberlane. Take
one tennis ball. Add broomstick handle. Place handle in square
two inch wide block of wood. Shave one edge of block to 45
degree angle. Whack tennis ball down convenient 4inch channel
between rows of grass on athletic field, cleverly creatively
and cheaply planted in cornrows. Problem was putting across the
rows. Hank Schwartz invented the game. No one played more than
once except when it was a UN Day event.

Goofy Kravit
I sure remember Goofy Golf. In the early 70's there was that
big Austrailian golf and tennis teacher (he had a funny
nickname, but it escapes me) who built the oily sand greens on
the far athletic field. He got SO pissed when we'd play Goofy
as opposed to regular golf on them...
Plus those wooden clubs were around the athletic shack long
after the game stopped being played. I remember making up
ridiculous stories as to what they were.

There's more to life than Cartoon
Network...
If you do a Google search-- you will find that "The Wiggles are
a unique and dynamic musical group who entertain children,
enchanting them with the pure joy of their own music and
dance."
www.thewiggles.com.
Maybe if you stop watching DragonTails and Pokemon and find
some new programming, you might find their show entertaining
for yourself.
