Raskin is no Timber-historian
Raskin....Rocky Stone was a Timber-classic---the inventor or
many important things at Camp Timberlane (like Nature
Appreciation). One of the finest (if not the finest) frisbee
shooters ever. Rick Kagen just happens to be one of the best
waterskiers in the Timber-History. For Timber-history

My most vivid memory of Rocky was him playing naked frisbee in

I recall being in that rainstorm playing frisbee with a very
naked Rocky that afternoon. I was fully clothed and fully
soaked.
He was, however, wearing one thing, a harmonica holder around
his neck so he could play music while running after the 'bee. I
also recall some comments made from viewers in the Seemelater
over the PA.

How could I leave out Bobbo?
One more thing Marksy, I just remembered that a few years ago,
we were up north for Callahan's wedding, and Bobbo Heilbrenner
asked me to pull him for a barefoot run. It was a holiday
weekend, and there were many boats on the lake. Bobbo did not
care about the rough water, and when I asked if he wanted to do
a step off, or a deep water start, he couldn't decide. A few
minutes later, he informed me he was going to do a deep water
backward barefoot start in choppy water. He backwards footed
for about 100 yards, and was ready to go again, this time he
wanted to perform a 180 turn, back to front. Do you still think

I actually called Scooter up about 5 yrs. ago prior to one of
our many reunions in Memphis--in fact, I believe it was our
last Memphis, prior to New Orleans (the only one I missed out

seeing Jerry, Bob, Vince, Mickey, Bill and Phil at The Pyramid
(even Frank and Shelly Pierce took in a show--very cool heads).
You'll also recall (or not recall) my roommate at the Holiday
Inn-Midtown--none other than the infamous SCOOTER (he kissed me
many times for picking him up in St. Louis where he supposedly
was attending law school). Rick quized him on a number of
classic 1st year cases and he confirmed that Scooter was,
indeed, at least enrolled. One footnote--he only brought (1)
pair of underwear that was too tight for him and washed them
every morning and put them on wet--the only one I witnessed at
The Rendezvous who shook so much salt on his ribs that they
were white--God help the Scooter...

David Avadek was going to buy camp; and was up there for a

Dr. Raskin's recall and description of the man in question is

Watch out Where the Huskies Go
Ahh...cabin wills
Cabin wills were done 2 ways...New-to-Timberlane counselors
went around and asked each kid what they wanted to will, and it
was never really funny or entertaining. But most counselors who
"came up thru the ranks" wrote the wills on behalf of their
cabin, and they were all read at the final campfire. This was
done for several reasons...1) you had to compose a final letter
for the parents (which nobody wanted to do), and for the sake
of getting done as quickly as possible, counselors wrote wills
out for their kids. 2) Many counselors took the opportunity to
take one last swipe at kids they didn't want to see come back.
Obviously, for Leiken, it didn't work. I do recall that one
year, Carl Bassewitz wrote to 50% of the parents that he
couldn't stand their kid, and that they should probably look
for a new camp. Harold was not amused....Carl didn't care.

the next summer (either at a campfire or some rainy time
