COMMENT

Magazines come and magazines go. Take LIFE magazine, for example. After years of success, it suddenly and with little warning, folded. The advertisers and subscribers had stopped taking an interest in it.
The success or failure of TIMBERLIFE will follow the same pattern. What this magazine needs is support--from campers, from counselors and from parents. For as long as we receive ideas, articles, pictures, cartoons, puzzles and all of the other things a magazine needs, we will put out a product everyone can enjoy and be proud of.
For you campers, remember that Timberlane is always full of activity, and there’s always something to be written about. If you win a hard-fought softball game, write about it. If you went on a great trip, let us print your story of it. If it rains and you win a bingo game and get triple canteen, tell us and we’ll get it into the paper. This magazine is for you, but it also has to come from you.
I hope that all of you parents reading this will also do your best to write if you have any suggestions, comments, letters, or questions. We’d be more than happy to include feedback from you and I’m sure kids here would be interested in reading what parents are thinking. SO---don’t hesitate. Get it down on paper, and get it into the mail.
A special thanks to all of those who helped on this first issue of TIMBERLIFE--the time you spent writing articles, taking pictures, , and running errands made everything possible. For those who would like to get involved, there’s plenty of room on the staff. I’m looking forward to talking with all of you. Meanwhile, read and enjoy.
