Sometime before camp started, Fred Bierman
had a dream. This dream was for Camp Timberlane to publish its
own newspaper. He told Harold of this idea, and he was all for it.
So, in this first issue of the Timberlife magazine, we will try to
tell you all about the publication.
Although there is a tentative staff of writers for the magazine,
anyone will be allowed to submit articles, photos, and puzzles. This
includes campers, P.A.s and C.I.T.s , staff, kitchen
workers, Vance, Harold, Sharon, and any animals that have a
membership to the Writers Guild. These articles should
mainly deal with things relating to camp, but also puzzles, quizzes,
comics and just about anything else that you think will interest
campers and parents.
Timberlife was a name that was selected from many suggested names,
one of which happened to be the Timberlane Harold (get
it?)
The paper will be published every two weeks (twice a session) this
year, but this schedule may be increased next summer if campers show
great interest.
All issues will probably be eight pages long, but it is possible that
a longer, year-end issue will be published. Our magazine will be
printed at Lakeland High School and will be distributed to all
campers and staff. Copies will also be sent to all parents and
families of people in camp.
If you want more information , or want to submit material, please
speak with Fred Bierman of Sioux cabin.
