Timberbats Put on Shows
by Lonnie Lazar

The Timberbat Waterski Club is one of the many outlets for campers to enjoy themselves at camp.

The club was started about nine or ten years ago by Bruce Wynn, because “we has been watching the Minocqua-Bats for many years and felt we could adapt this to our own camp, on a limited basis, “ according to Director Harold Hiken.

Club directors Mark Abrahams and Mike Ukman, along with Randy Wynn, head-ski advisor, organize about six shows per year. The main and most important of these are two parent’s weekend shows. The highlight of the show is the five-man pyramid, presently put together by Maury Hecht, David Goodman and Josh Taxman holding Brett (Jock) Samuels and Jeff Kollinger on their shoulders.

Other acts include Larry Fuhrer doing the shoe-ski act, which has him doing an impressive “back-swan” on only one show-ski. Bob Komisar, Ronnie Ravkind and Craig Glick comprise the triple slalom shoe act.

Probably the most difficult acts are the barefoot run with John Hanover and/or Joel Brazy and the backwards barefoot finale by Randy Wynn.
