Session Changes
by Brian Schlossberg

Four weeks have gone by already and many campers have gone. The ones that are left, the six and eight weekers, had a very hard time saying goodbye to their friends.

“I wish I could stay a little longer, these four weeks just went by so fast!” said Harry Stern last week.

When a camper stays at Timberlane, he becomes attached to it, and Timberlane becomes a part of a boy’s life.

“You’re always sad to see the four-weekers go, but as Harold says, you will learn to love the new crop as much as the old, “ junior counselor Doug McIver explained.

When a boy leaves home for camp, he might start to feel sad about it and feel a little bit homesick, but when he gets to camp, it’s like walking into a whole new world, with many, many things to do.

As H.H. always says, “We like to keep our boys busy.” When a boy gets to Timberlane, he is immediately rushed through tests, programming and gets unpacked.

This reporter is an eight week camper, and can see some campers leaving and some coming. It’s really a neat thing to see the cabin and even the whole camp change. So, it’s a sad thing to say goodbye to a friend, but it’s always nice to say hello to another.
